Christmas is only 15 days away. I realized that fact as I pulled into the driveway and saw the big package sitting on our front steps. It was full of Omega steaks, Carnegie cheesecakes and a nice thick cookbook. This is just package #1. We’ll probably have fifteen by the time Christmas gets here.

My dad’s vendors love to send him gifts this time of they year. Aren’t they sweet? Last year we had 7 bottles of wine, 4 legs of veal, many steaks, lots of rich desserts, and a few nice gift certificates.

oh my goodness.

lazy.

Monday, December 9th, 2002

I’m being lazy…procrastinating…finding so much to do but studying. I’ve read everyone’s blogs, discovered new ones, listened to lots of music, read e-zines, updated all of my profiles, etc…but I certainly haven’t studied any. Augh! Someone remind me- this is EXAM WEEK. I need to have my head buried in books.

drunk on living.

Do you ever become intoxicated with life? I often become consumed with all that I have to do. There are errands to run, papers to write, exams to study for, a play to direct, songs to practice, phone calls to make, emails to write…and I become focused on the shallowness of life. It is sad to realize but I am repeatedly moved by my needs and desires instead of by the Maker of the universe. Oh, Lord…you understand that I have these responsibilities. I’ll make more time for You next week. Perhaps I’ll even pray for an hour every morning and read five chapters instead of two. I just need this time for me. I’m sure you will identify with my struggle here. And I live my life…ignoring the fact that Christ should be what motivates and drives the things in my life instead of the other way around.
