Charity wrote a letter to me a few days ago…

“…we had a major tropical storm here over the weekend. There wasn’t any major damage on campus except for some broken windows and uprooted trees and bushes. We were out of power for awhile. As a result of the storm, the waves and rip tides were very dangerous and we were not allowed to go to the beach. However, a group of guys decided to take a chance and head for the beach. Among the group were two brothers, Nathan and Ben. They actually took a chance to swim in the ocean and were caught in a rip tide. Nathan was able to swim out of it, but unfortunately Ben was not. His body was found later Saturday and his funeral was held on Monday back in his hometown.”

It’s been quite sometime since I have talked with Scott. We ran into each other yesterday and reminisced about old times. He and Heather have a little cottage downtown. She is teaching PE at a local school and he is preparing to graduate with an accounting degree in December.

i have weird friends.

kerry: Not if your life goal is writing a thesaurus.

jennifer: rofl

jennifer: that was funny

kerry: Which sounds like a dinosaur, not a book.

jennifer: hehe. I agree!

kerry: The mighty thesaurus shambled through the forest, terror spreading in all directions as he advanced.

what a nice evening.

Stan and I went to Brick Street Cafe and ate scrumptious food. The fact that our waiter was slightly under the influence of too much pain medicine for his aching back didn’t affect our fun at all. *grin*

change is in the air.

I got an invitation to Damon and Staci’s wedding in the mail today. The wedding is on October 5 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I will have to take time off from school possibly.

Charity left for school in Florida on Monday. I am going to miss her so much. During Christmas she will fly here and stay for two weeks and then fly on to California. Hehe, I could go with her and perhaps make a stop in LA. 😉 Alright…I realize that will not happen. *smiling* Here is a picture that we took with some of the children at church right before we told Charity bye.
