Aelki was offline earlier today, due to an underground fire in Baltimore. (CWH has their main operating center there or something)

Hmm. That sounds so dramatic.

Anyway. I have a lot to say but Everwood, new books, paint supplies, and my fridge are calling my name.

cutting ties.

Yes, Lesser Things was down. And then something weird happened with MT and it republished itself last night. Which made my blog reappear.

As someone has already felt the need to mention, it seems like I’ve bounced around several domains and have quit writing other times before, too. I don’t feel a need to be ashamed of that fact, and so I’m not.

Cutting ties is never easy.

[I’ll leave the archives up]

a time to keep silent.

Tuesday, November 4th, 2003

There is a time for sharing and a time to keep silent. That’s the thought I had when I crossed Lake Hartwell tonight. For the past three years, I have poured out my heart in my blog. There were moments when I should have kept my mouth shut and other moments when I could have expounded a bit more. However, all of it has been my journey. I love writing and sharing with you. We have become a community. You are my family in a sense. Yet, in the past few weeks I have felt a burden of silence. It’s as though anything I might share will lose its grandeur and meaning to me. So, I think I’ll walk away for a bit, stop writing, and just learn. [Remember the old proverb – bloggers always come back]

But, to keep my digital camera from getting lonely – I might post pictures occasionally.

finished.

A little bit of rain is splattering against the windows, which fits perfectly with confetti falling down all night.

Other than working on my archives, and figuring out why every post but my current one has lowercase font, I am done with this layout. Whew.

new chapter.

The first sip of ice cold lemonade before you down the entire glass. Fresh paper filling your notebook. Turning the first page of your favorite book. The clock striking midnight on New Years Eve. The opening chords of that classic song.

The start of a new chapter in my life. Some of you have drifted over from my old site and some of you are brand new faces. Either way, you are both along for the ride.
